The successful applicants for the Roster Scholarships will receive $1,000 per year, every year of their program (up to a maximum of 4 years).
To be eligible to receive a Black Education Fund scholarship or bursary award, you must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program, and meet the following criteria:
- a member of the Canadian Black community (i.e., a Black person of discernible African ancestry and you self-identify as Black/African- Canadian/African-Caribbean/African American);
- a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
- provide acceptance to a Canadian post-secondary college, trade school, or university
- submit an essay describing why you are applying and how you will benefit from a BEF scholarship (750 word max)
You are ineligible if:
- you are a previous recipient of the Black Education Fund Roster Scholarship or Parents of Black Children Canada, Young Gifted and Black Scholarship
- you are employed by Parents of Black Children Canada, affiliated or related to a Parents of Black Children Canada employee, Co-founder, or Board member
